Privacy Policy

Summary: Price Note stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect personal information, create user accounts, or sell your data. Images you choose to scan are sent to Google's AI service solely to extract product or price information. We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (no personal data is collected). Free users see ads served by Google AdMob; subscribing to Price Note Pro removes all ads.

1. Information We Collect

Price Note is a local-first app. Almost all data you enter stays entirely on your device:

We do not collect your name, email address, location, or any other personally identifying information. There is no account registration or login.

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as which features are used and how often, to help us improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity. Google's data handling is governed by the Firebase Privacy Policy.

If you are a free user, Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) and general usage data to serve relevant advertisements. Subscribing to Price Note Pro removes all ads.

2. AI Scanning (Camera & Photo Access)

When you use the AI scan feature (available to subscribers), photos are captured from your camera or selected from your photo library and temporarily sent to Google's Gemini AI service via Firebase to extract product names, sizes, or price information.

3. Subscription & Payments

Subscriptions are managed entirely by RevenueCat and processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, see, or store your payment card details.

RevenueCat may collect your device's anonymous app user ID and subscription status to verify entitlements. Their privacy practices are described at revenuecat.com/privacy.

4. Third-Party Services

Price Note integrates the following third-party services:

Firebase AI (Google) Used for AI-powered image scanning. Images are processed to extract product and price data. Privacy Policy

Firebase Analytics (Google) Used to collect anonymous app usage data (e.g. feature usage, screen views) to improve the app. No personal data is collected. Privacy Policy
Google AdMob Used to display advertisements to free users. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier and usage data to serve relevant ads. Ads are not shown to Price Note Pro subscribers. Google Privacy Policy
Apple App Store / Google Play Handle all payment processing for subscriptions. Their respective privacy policies apply.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your grocery data, prices, and images are stored in a local SQLite database and the app's document directory on your device. Backup files you export are saved to a location you choose. We do not have access to your device or your data.

We take reasonable precautions to keep communications with third-party services secure (HTTPS), but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

All app data lives on your device. You can delete any item, price record, or image at any time within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Exported backup files remain wherever you saved them.

7. Children's Privacy

Price Note is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
